Have you visited our farmers market right in the centre of Ipswich? You’ll find us on the Cornhill smack bang in the centre of town, every month on the first Sunday.
We love how our markets look on The Cornhill! Every month we bring a host of colourful gazebos to the heart of town and suddenly you are aware of the stunning buildings that fill our County town.
Spend a morning soaking up the architecture, discover meandering little lanes and medieval facades. Stroll up to Christchurch Park and enjoy a picnic under the ancient trees or visit the range of unique independent shops and cafes in The Saints en route to a walk along the beautiful waterfront.
Staying local and buy local – all in Ipswich!
This market has a real following who are enjoying all the fabulous local and artisan producers at the market including locally reared, traditionally butchered pork from Jo Henderson at Greenacres, and from October we’re delighted to welcome fresh vegetables from Alex Horne’s farm and fresh artisan breads/sourdoughs from Harvey & Co. As always Mena’s Indian Banquet’s samosas and bhajis are a firm favourite and Alex’s Artisan Bakery also stars with a mix of delicious bakes as well as The Jam Shed – selling a range of jams and pickles. Another stall and man (Avi – you can fail to miss or hear him!) is Bagel and Beigel who’s range of freshly baked bagels are bringing a new crowd to the market – many of whom are picking up a week or more’s supply. Market favourites Compleat bring their tasty homemade pies and local and regional cheeses are available too from the Cheese & Pie Man. Market regulars The Norwegian Bakers bring their popular bakes and Gemma’s vegan Doodle Donuts and TFI burgers are always a sell out! While you are browsing all the delicious options enjoy a warming hot chocolate or coffee from The Coffee Station. If all these treats have given you a little thirst then there are plenty of options including craft ales from Old Felixstowe Brewery, handcrafted cider from Big Bear plus local gin producer Dalham Mill Gin will be ready to tempt those who fancy a tipple.
There’s more to tempt with a number of craft stalls including wools and yarns from Teacup Yarns and home made jewellery from P&L Gems as well as homemade olive oil soaps from PG Oils.
