Suffolk Market Events is delighted to have teamed up with The Foragers Feast to bring you even more fabulous foraging workshops over the next twelve months.

Carl Shillingford is an expert forager and a Michel Roux trained chef and Matthew Rooney is a hugely knowledgable ecologist and mushroom grower and together, as Foragers Feast, they run fabulous forages in beautiful Suffolk countryside followed by delicious wild food cooking demonstrations and tastings.

Foragers Feast really do provide a unique way of spending the day with true experts but spaces do get booked quickly so we suggest you reserve your space soon.

Come and discover Nature’s Autumn Larder in beautiful Suffolk landscape and learn how to get the taste of the wild in your diet.

All our Autumn foraging takes place on fabulous Tiger Hill near the village of Bures in the heart of rural Suffolk and focuses on the huge range of fungi from Earth Stars to Chicken of the Woods. 

During the morning, we’ll be walking through ancient woodland on the borders of Constable country, discussing the huge range of wild produce available, learning where, when and what to look for amidst a broad selection of fungi. Then the forage starts in earnest before Carl cracks on with his amazing cooking in the field kitchen, turning your foraged finds into delicious lunchtime treats.

Every forager receives a Goodie Bag to include recipes, a foraging calendar, and a selection of wild food products including dried mushrooms, wild soup and sour dough bread.

Tickets cost £75 (including booking fee) and cover a full morning of foraging, cooking demo, ample tastings and a packed full Goodie Bag. Go wild in Suffolk's gorgeous autumn landscape with two local foragers as your expert guides!

All our Autumn foraging takes place on fabulous Tiger Hill near the village of Bures in the heart of rural Suffolk, looking at the broad selection of wild fungi available to add to your diet, including Bird's Nest and Beefsteak. 

The morning starts with walking through ancient woodland on the borders of Constable country, learning where, when and what to look for and the range of colours, sizes, textures and tastes. Then the forage starts in earnest whilst Carl whips up his field kitchen and will thrill you with his cooking skills, turning your foraged finds into delicious lunchtime treats.

Come and discover Nature’s Autumn Larder in our beautiful Suffolk landscape and learn how to get the taste of the wild in your diet with the experts!

Autumn is the season when mushrooms become obvious in the woods and meadows. Join us to discover the variety of fungi, their shapes, colours, smells, textures and tastes from Earth Stars and Bird's Nests to Beefsteak and Chicken of the Woods.

You will spend the morning with foraging expert and Michel Roux trained chef, Carl Shillingford and expert botanist Matthew Rooney who will lead the forage through ancient woodland near the village of Bures, nestled in stunning Constable country. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend time with two genuine experts 'in the field', gaining a wealth of practical knowledge and inspiration from their enthusiasm.

Afterwards, you will then head to Lavenham Village Hall (Church Street, Lavenham CO10 9QT) for a fabulous hour-long cooking demonstration with your foraged finds. There will be plenty of chances to feast on deliciously tasty samples and ask lots of questions. Finally, everyone will receive a fabulous Goodie Bag filled with recipes, a foraging calendar, and a selection of wild food products including dried mushrooms, wild soup and sour dough bread. 

This is our only forage combined with a cooking demonstration inside plus the chance to wander around our award-winning farmers' market,  so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. It's our last forage of the year but there are still plenty of mushrooms in the woods and meadows. Join us to discover the variety of fungi, their shapes, colours, smells, textures and tastes from Earth Stars and Bird's Nests to Beefsteak and Chicken of the Woods. 

You will spend the morning with foraging expert and Michel Roux trained chef, Carl Shillingford and expert botanist Matthew Rooney who will lead the forage through ancient woodland near the village of Bures, nestled in stunning Constable country. Afterwards, you will be treated to a delicious range of tasters created, in front of your eyes, in Carl's field kitchen, using your foraged finds - in one attendee's words "Carl's brilliant cooking in the field was just the icing on the cake". 

The day ends with everyone receiving a fabulous Goodie Bag filled with recipes, a foraging calendar, and a selection of wild food products including dried mushrooms, wild soup and sour dough bread.
