We’re so excited to be bringing back our farmers market to Colchester!

After what seems an age (nearly 2 years due to Covid) we are finally ready to re-start the popular Colchester Farmers Market. As we say a fond farewell to our old home at the Arts Centre, we say a great big festive hello to our new home around the corner on the Piazza at The Mercury Theatre!

This Friday the fabulous piazza will be filled with up to 25 local artisan producers with fresh food and drink plus a few crafts stalls to tempt you.

Regulars to the market will be pleased to see Wigborough Meats back with their range of local produce as well as Lauriston Farm and their organic veg. Totham Bangers return with sausages and look out for Compleat and their homemade pies and local cheeses. Indigo brings her Japanese inspired jams and Beehouse Honey returns with local honey. There are chilli jams from Mad Mike and spices from the Suffolk Spice Company plus local orchard Daymens Hill have fresh juice and apples. Granola is delivered by Good to Go as is fresh breads from Tensheds Bakery as well as Essex produced kombucha from Pure Kombucha. There’s traybakes and cakes from Alex Artisan Bakery and brownies from the Essex Brownie Company and if that gives you a thirst we have craft cider from Big Bear, craft ale from Roughacre, natural wines from Saltpeter Wines and gin from Colchester based Matopos. Festive wreaths and flowers come from Countryside Flowers and candles from the White Candle Company and their is local art from Philly Art and bespoke jewellery from the Silver Spoon Jewellery.

All the excitement starts at 9.30am and runs till 1pm. There is is plenty to keep everyone full of festive spirit not to mention the cafe in the theatre who may treat us to a special farmers market breakfast?
